Chippewa County Credit Union (CCCU) has partnered with local community members and organizations to raise money for “Koats for Kids” within Chippewa County. One hundred and sixty coats along with hats and gloves in a variety of colors were distributed on November 13, 2018 at the Kinross Recreational Center with the help of local community volunteers along with CCCU staff members.
Chippewa County Community Members & Organizations helped fund the 2nd Annual coat drive with their generous donations. Chippewa County Credit Union Members & Local Community Members Donated approximately $2900.00, CCCU Donated $2000.00, the Fraternal Order of Orioles Men’s Nest generously donated $500.00, the Fraternal Order of Orioles Women’s Nest donated $500.00, Sault Chamber Ambassadors donated $250.00 and Well Diggers of Kinross donated $120.00, Eagle Radio Station 95.1 also contributed with a special radio advertisement to help spread the word.
The social and economic impact of the coat drive along with the support of our local community and Chippewa County Credit Union members is valued and appreciated more than the cash donations alone. One hundred and sixty children will now be able to play outside, wait for the bus, and be able to stay warm doing so this winter season all to the thanks of community members like you.
Chippewa County Credit Union looks forward to organizing another coat distribution in 2019. CCCU will be working with Families Against Narcotics (FAN) who will be joining our partnership with Kinross Recreation Center to offer a 2nd distribution site in Sault Ste. Marie.
